This is the 1974-85 Suzuki M-36, successor to the original 1960s Suzuki M-36 Melodion, Suzuki's first professional level Melodion, from which it is a step up in terms of quality of construction and playability. It seems to be easier to find one of these in good playing condition than it is to find the 1960s model. This particular model is in my opinion the most attractive of the 36 key Suzukis and probably the best choice among full size (36-37 key) vintage Suzuki models, with the classic Suzuki harmonica-like sound. The 1970s Suzuki M-36 a desirable vintage model for enthusiasts of the now current Suzuki M-37C, with a distinctive look and good sound and key action. Except for the nice cream and red color scheme, though, the Suzuki, manufactured in Japan, is probably a better bet than the Korean Samick version. The Suzuki is also easier to find.
